What the Sprinkler Trip Wire Does.
The problem
Pallets built to maximise space availability require pinpoint accuracy during rack loading and retrieval. With little space to play with, accidents can and do happen and a sprinkler head strike, is one of the costliest for any storage facility.
Sprinkler guards are vital. However, they present a small surface area against large pallets and can become damaged beyond their function.
As the pallet hits the in-rack sprinkler head, the system is initiated.
The Solution
A coated cable is installed, under its own load tension, at a level which sits below the sprinkler head. Depending on the length of an aisle determines how many cable runs are applied.
A pallet moving into the wire encounters restraint, which is not enough to affect the integrity of the pallet load, but enough for the operator to identify. They are then able to adjust their approach and load safely.
