Preparation
Ahead of application, we ensure the floor surface is extremely clean. Floor tape has the best chance if the floor is clear of dirt and debris and clean of contaminants. A smooth surface is also very important. Smooth surfaces present the best surface area profile for adhesive to bond with, a key difference between tape and paint. Fortunately, warehouse floors are often as smooth as glass.
The Tapes
Fortega select preferred manufacturers of adhesive floor tape and only install those specifically developed for the warehousing and logistics industry. The profile of our floor tapes is such that material handling equipment, including forklift trucks, can ride up onto the tape. Similarly, pallets are less likely to dig into the tape and tear it from the floor. Adhesives used are high strength and are available in ambient and freezer grade.

However, the floor tape we recommend is of the highest performance, and not the cheap floor tape that is widely available, therefore on large projects that is reflected in the price.

How Can I Look After The Lines Once I Have Them?
Keeping the floor area clean and clear of debris is the easiest thing any facility can work on. However, we strongly recommend customers add to their training program. They should encourage clear lifting of pallets when maneuvering them, turning before or after the line, so they do not twist the paint surface, keeping areas clean and clear of debris and dirt, and removing damaged pallets, so they do not damage the floor markings.
How Long Will it Take to Install?
Our project teams create daily schedules of work, which allow us to forecast the work time needed to complete the entire line marking installation. Providing an exact figure for your project is only possible once we have all the details, but we are happy to do this as part of the quotation process.
What Colour Paints Do You Have?
Most colours are available as you would expect, however industrial floor coating paints are not decorative, so the range is limited compared to the type you may see in your local domestic paint store.
