Key Benefits of Our Rack and Shelf Labels
By implementing our high-quality location labels, you’ll create a more organised, reliable, and more productive work environment for your company.
Enhanced Efficiency: Producing barcodes which achieve the highest verification rates, means your labels can be scanned first time. This is a standard we work to, not something we hope to achieve.
Inventory Accuracy: Our installation services guaranty that every rack location label is applied to the correct position, whether it’s a small or massive installation.
This brings our customers reassurance that products placed are located accurately for faster retrieval later.
Enhanced Long-Lasting Durability: Built to withstand industrial conditions, our polyester barcode labels resist wear, tear, and fading. This makes it possible to remove the labels in one piece when the time comes, as they will last and perform as long as your racking does.
The Importance of Rack Labels
Rack location labels are essential for keeping operations organised and efficient. From identifying product locations to minimising picking errors, they provide the clarity your teams need to keep everything running smoothly.

Explore the Types of Rack Label Solutions We Provide
We understand that every warehouse is different. That’s why produce our location labels in a range of configurations to suit every placement in your operation.

Beam Labels
Placed on the bottom beam of your rack structure, these are often a single location label, with readable reference to the position and a linear or 2D barcode to be scanned.
Perfect For:
Any rack labelling need, where the beam provides a flat surface for them to be adhered to.
Features:
- High-resolution printing for accurate and speedy scanning
- Permanent, freezer and removable adhesive backing
- Magnetic backing options
- Bespoke designs and full colour print
- Linear and 2D barcodes as needed
- Polyester, reflective, gloss and matte finish materials
Split Base Labels
Utilising the same technology as beam labels, split base are difference in their design. We carefully design these to incorporate two locations, which halves the installation time and reduces space needed on the lower-level beam where other information may need to be applied.
Perfect For:
Identifying two locations with one label and keeping the beams free of excessive labels.
Features:
- Dual location displays
- High-resolution printing for accurate and speedy scanning
- Permanent, freezer and removable adhesive backing
- Magnetic backing options
- Bespoke design and full colour print
- Linear and 2D barcodes as needed
- Polyester, reflective, gloss and matte finish materials

Multi-Level Beam Location Labels
Designed to present multiple locations on one label and placed on a beam that can be read and scanned by a person at ground level. Multi-level beam labels, also known as step-labels, reduce installation times with many labels in one application.
Perfect For:
Providing the location information and barcode at ground level, for positions which may be ten or meters above.
Features:
- Multi location information displays
- High-resolution printing for accurate and speedy scanning
- Permanent, freezer and removable adhesive backing
- Magnetic backing options
- Bespoke design and full colour print
- Linear and 2D barcodes as needed
- Polyester, gloss and matte finish coatings
Multi-Level Upright Racking Labels
Designed with the same intricacy and heightened detail as the multi-level beam label, but oriented in portrait view and made from extremely durable plastic composite construction for application to the rack frame/leg.
Perfect For:
Providing pallet location references on the frame rather than the beam.
Features:
- Multi location information displays
- High-resolution printing for accurate and speedy scanning
- Permanent adhesive and magnetic backing options
- Plastic composite construction
- Bespoke design and full colour print
- Linear and 2D barcodes as needed
- No-tear technology.

Tailored Designs to Meet Your Needs
Our experience and understanding of logistics facilities and the equipment they use means we are perfectly positioned to present labelling solutions for every circumstance. With varying degrees of data required, different barcode types used and the use of colour to differentiate levels, our design capabilities are unlimited.
We produce labels to suite the place where they will be applied and the content required on them. Always optimising the design and material used, we look for efficiencies to save your money, while maximising product performance.
Presentation of your labels is also a preference consideration. Some customers like labels on sheets, other like them on rolls, while others prefer individual labels.
Alpha and numeric combination location codes are a normal thing for us. Most often in their thousands, we check data for consistency and completeness. This is essential for us to guaranty that every location has a label, and every label is in its location once an installation is complete.
Label Content Examples.
- Readable alpha and numeric location references
- Linear and 2D barcode types
- Check digit generation and inclusion
- Arrows and direction guides
- Full colour code designation
- Branding and logos

Frequently Asked Questions
Questions about Fortega, the products we make, the services we provide, and how we bring it all together for our customers.
How long will it take to get my labels?
We suggest customers work to a 3-4 week window. We work quickly, but you need time to consider the designs and layouts, as well as location data, but once confirmed and signed off, we move fast to have the labels available.
Can you match the labels we currently use?
Yes. We design unique labels per customer. They may be first time original designs, adaptions from previous designs, or exact copies of those our customers have on their beams.
Exact colour match is hard to achieve, but we will get very close.
I have a damaged rack beam and need replacement labels. Can I order just those I need?
Fortega keep an archive of previous orders and designs, which means anything we have produced in the past, can be recalled and produced. For previous orders, we can skip the proofing stages to speed the process and have you active fast. For new customers, we will act just as fast, while adding in the steps to ensure the product you receive is to our rigorous standards.
How many rack labels can you apply per day?
We can tell more precisely if we know the label type, the rack or shelf layout and how quickly it needs to be done.
Labels on condensed shelving are quick to install, compared to high rack level pallet labelling, simply because of the distance between each and the time it takes to move to the next position.
We can also work with your time constraints. If we need to increase our resource to speed the process, we can and will adjust our labels-per-day rate accordingly.
